Access to the White Bear is via a small courtyard just off the High Street. Probably dating from the 17th century, the interior is long and narrow. Although notionally all one room, there are at least half a dozen different areas, some carpeted and some with polished wooden floors. The walls are painted in a sort of grey colour which doesn't really do justice to the building and there are pictures of old Whitchurch on the walls. A pool table can be found in the rear section.

Reopened in May 2025. Only open Thursday to Saturday. No real ale available.
