Single-roomed, old-fashioned bar by the Water of Leith dating from 1747 popular with locals and visitors. It has a real fire and the walls are bedecked with mirrors, prints and beer-related artefacts. A large selection of pump clips, many from long-lost breweries, hang from the ceiling along with water jugs and hop bines which are renewed every harvest. The wide variety of real ales are are listed on the mirror behind the bar. There is an emphasis towards smaller breweries and ones from the Lake District.

Built 1912 as a three-storey warehouse now a pub and separate private house. A single bar with two separate small mirrored gantries and a plain mirror between them which look as if they date back to inter-war times. Note the small drawers / cupboard in the lower part of the gantry – one is lockable. Most lower shelves replaced by fridges. The sloping bar counter has a shelf at the top like a dominoes table but why? It has a brown Formica top and the rear section looks altered. There is a good Art Deco glazed brick fireplace in yellow with ship symbols left and right.
