"The Welcome" has been a pub since at least 1826 and probably for much longer. There is a large restaurant upstairs, with a compact, but cosy, public bar on the ground floor. Outside there is a front terrace with seating, as well as a larger patio garden area at the rear, which includes a children's play area and separate smoking area, plus a separate Games Room. Food from an extensive menu is served in all areas, with Sunday Lunch served from 12 until 4pm.

There is a single step at the front entrance, but step free access is available by means of a special metal ramp, kept in the front entrance porch, which the pub puts down over the step when needed and contacting the pub in advance is recommended. The straight route from car park to the rear door has two steps halfway along. The small downstairs bar room has step free access as does the back door route out to the rear patio and the Ladies toilet. But the Gents toilet has a single large step in its doorway. The restaurant upstairs is accessed only by a staircase. There is no Accessible Toilet.
