A popular free house outside Lacock village, it lies to the south-east towards Bowden Hill. The pub has friendly, welcoming staff and offers a good and varied wholesome food menu.

Three cask ales are usually available, usually including "Beau Bell". The pub has extensive seating both indoors and outdoors. Two beer festivals are held each year. During the summer an overflow. bar may open outside or can be hired for functions. This is located in the barn which has a comfortable drinking area around a wood burner as well as tables for dining. An ideal finishing point for walks around Bewley Common and Bowden Hill, the pub sits on the line of the Wilts & Berks Canal, which is being restored by volunteers. Regular Beer Festivals are held and also "Meet The Brewer" evenings.
