built as the Cross Keyes Inn but listed as Castle Inn from 1821, now specialising in food, undergoing refurbishment in 2005 as an Ember Inn then its current branding "Village Inn & Kitchen". Sandal Bowling Club adjacent once belonged to pub. Tasting platters with three ⅓ pint glasses available
