Historic Interest

Originally the Grapes, dating back to at least 1828, a Yates' Castle Brewery pub, operating at least until 1980s as a John Smiths pub. Became a free house in the 1980s, renamed the Old Colonial. The old photos show the pub in 1989, it was acquired by and renovated by Cains in 1997. Closed in 2008 and converted to offices. Reopened as a pub in June 2018
