A pub since 1821, with a small downstairs bar and upstairs lounge. The pub combines the feel of a cosy 'proper pub' and Belgian beer bar. Part of a Georgian terrace close to Clifton Suspension Bridge, the main entrance is at lower street level. Steep internal stairs lead to toilets, rear garden (Summer only) and more seating. 2-3 Bristol Beer Factory cask ales are served: Fortitude is permanent with 1-2 changing. North Street cider (keg). Wide range of bottled Belgian beers stocked, plus 8 on tap, one changing. Quiz upstairs every 1st and 3rd Thursday, Autumn-Winter. No children and no large groups.
