The Rockingham Arms is in Canada, a quiet one-road hamlet, south of the A36. It was built in the 19th century as a chapel, but never used for worship; and later served as a school and as an alcohol store. Upham brewery reopened the pub after an extensive makeover in April 2014; but the pub is now privately owned. The result is a pleasing very comfortable well-decorated pub in harmonious country colours. The large L-shaped bar has several sections including a smart dining area. Being a destination pub, food is important: sandwiches, a sensibly limited menu, and local set Lunch and Dinner menus are available through the week; plus a separate Sunday Lunch menu. Outside a large rural garden lies alongside and behind the car park, with immediate access to Canada Common beyond.
