Independently owned and run Grade II listed pub dating from 1625. Friendly and welcoming and very much at the heart of the village. The two changing ales are sourced nationally.
It was once the village blacksmith and is a warren of small rooms with stone walls and low beams. During WW2 It was used by American GI's from local bases as a dance hall.
It also had its own brewery, the Ash Vine, at the rear which moved up to Frome in 1997, but closed in 2000.
