This is a hotel, but the bar and restaurant are open to non-residents.
The hotel, originally a coaching inn on the road between London and Oxford, has been offering hospitality for hundreds of years. It is situated at the foot of the Henley Bridge and offers spectacular views of the Thames and the Henley Royal Regatta Course.
Reopened 22 July 2021 after major refurbishment, having closed in Nov 2020 following its sale by MG Hotels to international hotelier Grace Leo and her business partner, shipping company chief Tim Hartnoll.
Historic Interest
Historic England Grade II listed, entry number 1047731. Originally a couple of houses built in the 1530s; the property became a hotel in 1732. The brick façade was added in the 18th century.
